SEND Family Sessions: Supporting Every Family, Every Step of the Way
Raising a child or young person with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) brings unique joys, challenges, and questions. At times, families may feel overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. Our SEND Family Sessions are designed to offer a safe, supportive space where families can connect, learn, and grow together.
Why Are These Sessions Important?
Families of children with SEND often navigate a complex system of support services, education plans, and medical or emotional needs. These sessions provide:
Empowerment – equipping parents and carers with practical tools, strategies, and up-to-date information.
Community – offering a place to meet others who understand and share similar experiences.
Confidence – helping families feel more in control and informed when advocating for their child.
Emotional Support – creating a space where it’s okay to share struggles and celebrate small victories.
Our Aim
Our aim is to bridge the gap between families and the services that support them. We want to ensure every family feels heard, understood, and valued. Whether it’s understanding EHCPs, behaviour strategies, transitions, or just needing a listening ear – our sessions are here for you.
Through these sessions, we strive to:
Promote inclusive, family-centred support
Build resilience and understanding
Foster a stronger support network for all families navigating SEND
Funding Makes It Possible
All of our sessions are made possible through external funding and grants. We do not receive regular core funding, which means each session depends on the generosity of funders who believe in supporting SEND families. This also means we are always working to secure resources to continue providing these vital services.
If you would like to support our work, please consider sharing our services, connecting us with potential funders, or making a donation if you’re able.
Together, we can ensure no family feels alone on their SEND journey.
